Destiny
is a 6 year old spayed Dalmatian weighing around 43 pounds. She is
in need of a new home with a family willing to give her lots of love and
affection. She does well with cats and most dogs; she is skittish
around grey hounds and huskies. If there are children in the home
they need to be over 10 years old. She has never bitten anyone,
but experiences anxiety around younger children which why we are trying
to find a new family for her. Destiny is current on rabies for
another year, but will need her other vaccinations early April.
Other then a sensitive stomach, she does not have any medical problems.
She has been through obedience training and beginner agility. Her
favorite activities include sleeping, cuddling, and being chased in the
yard. Destiny is very loved by her current family, but due to a new
addition in the family, she is having anxiety issues. She is a
very affectionate Dalmatian with a great personality. Destiny is in
Appleton, WI. If you would like to know more about her call 920-585-2288
and ask for Heather. |

TESSIE - Notes: I am a super shy girl but with a little work and a lot of patience I would make a wonderful, loving companion. I'm really in need of a foster home to help me with socialization. I'm a great dog, but I really need out of this shelter environment. I'm good with other dogs, not sure about cats though.I came in with my sister Tia, and I spend alot of time worrying about her. The people at the shelter here seem to think that it would be OK if I went to a home without her, although I won't object if you want to take us both. Update: I got to spend a weekend in a foster home without Tia, and I did okay. There were other dogs there and I watched them and learned. I ended up lying with my head in the foster Mom's lap, watching T.V. in no time at all. And although no one has said I'm housetrained, I had no accidents the whole weekend. I walked on a leash fine and I went into my crate with only minor complaining. Only thing is, there was this moment no one was watching me. I'm not saying what happened but I suddenly ran back to the foster Mom, screaming and with my tail between my legs. After that I didn't like her cats at all! She doesn't believe they tried to kill me but I know what happened and I'm positive my life was in danger! I'd rather live with people, and dogs, of course, and forget those cats. The cost of spaying/neutering and shots, even rabies, is included in the adoption fee. All dogs have been tested heartworm negative and all cats feline leukemia and fiv negative. All of the animals have also been micro-chipped. The Quincy Humane Society is located on the Illinois border roughly 20 miles north of Hannibal, MO . While we will adopt animals to other states we will never ship an animal or allow an animal to be shipped. All adopters must meet the potential pet in person before the adoption is finalized. If for some reason you are not able to keep the animal, it will be returned to the Quincy Humane Society at the adopters expense. The cost of a health certificate ($5 - required by law for adoptions across state lines) is included in the normal adoption fee. www.quincyhumanesociety.org
