[ Clancy 39k ]Chance (re-named Clancy): I have had Clancy for almost a month now and he is just like another member of the family. He absolutely loves to go on walks (actually they are more like jogs) and he loves to play ball. He is very fascinated with the cats and will spend most of the evening staring through the cat door that goes to the basement.

He is extremely friendly and now that I have three Dalmatians I am very popular with the neighborhood kids! Clancy participated in Trick or Treat night and was a big hit with all of the kids that came to the house. Last weekend we all had our picture taken with Santa - I haven't gotten them back but I think all three dogs were actually looking at the camera so hopefully they will turn out! Clancy starts obedience on Monday but he already knows sit and is very good about coming when called.

I can't believe how much he has improved in the last 2 months - to think that he was in such bad shape and is now a happy healthy dog is very rewarding.

Thanks to Dalsavers for rescuing him and thanks to Greg and Laura for nursing him back to health!

[ Chloe 19k ]Liberty#2 (re-named Chloe): Hi Dal-Savers WI/IL
Chloe (left) & Hobbes (right) are great friends who follow and learn from their old sister Samantha. Our dogs are a lot of fun! We have already started obedience training and look forward to agility training in the future.
Thanks again for Chloe,
Fran & Darrell

[ Ellie 22k ]Ellie: On June 1, 2001, I adopted Ellie, then about 6 months young and full of energy. She initially did not get along well with other dogs, except for my 9 yr. old Domino. Mid June Ellie start Canine Good Citizen School (C.G.C.) She was to old for puppy class and really to young for C.G.C. The first class was a test of will's. It took us the entire first hour to get with in 50 feet of the class. 8 weeks later she did fail, but she also graduated to being a very playful dog with other dogs. She loves to prove she can run the fastest and longest. October, a second class started, she graduated C.G.C. with honors, and with the basics of agility. She is now learning agility and clicker training as well. Please, feel free to use this as a testament to your program. Ellie is a wonderful example of the dedication that you and your members put forth. Keep up the good works.

[ Faith 20k ]Faith: I just wanted to say thank you for letting Faith come into my life. She has brought a tremendous amount of joy and happiness into my life. After having put my other Dalmatian Arson to sleep. I never thought that I could love another dog. Faith has turned my life completely around. I no longer come home to an empty house. I come home to one with a dog happy to see me and who loves me just as much as I love her. She has turned my dull and boring lifestyle into one that is full of surprises and happiness. Thank you so very much for getting us together. I don't know where I would be without her.
Thanks,
Erin

Faith

[ Hunter 21k ]Hunter: He's getting big, must weigh about 70 lbs now. We have been taking lots of walks lately, to keep him "fit and trim". He's so cute.

[ Max 15k ]Domino#2 (re-named Max): Max is doing Great!! We had to go out of town this weekend, so Max spent the weekend playing with his new cousin Bailey ( a golden retriever) at my sisters house. He seemed SO happy to see us! We really missed him too. A part of me was worried he might have thought we left him or something like that. All is well now. I'm amazed at how attached we've become to Max. Didn't know if that was possible after having our last Dalmatian from puppyhood to his end. Max is such a wonderful, loveable, and well behaved dog, we love him as if we've had him forever. Anyhow, I'm getting emotional here--Max is doing well. Thank you all for the opportunity to add him to our family.

Thanks

[ Amber 8k ]Mercedes (re-named Amber) : Hi, my name is Amber (formerly Mercedes). I just wanted to send a note to let my fellow spotted friends know that Dal-Savers Dalmatian Rescue, Inc. is great. They find the best homes there are. I should know, because I now have one. I needed a ‘Mom’ who had lots of patience and they found me one - she doesn't yell if I make a mistake; but she does correct me and show me how to be good. I wanted a big yard to play in and I got 5 acres to run in and they even have a pond for me to swim in. I wanted a companion to play with and they gave me a big cat who loves to tumble on the floor and will even play ball with me. I wished for lots of toys and my Mom and Dad buy them all the time. I was hoping to go to school someday and I am now in Puppy Kindergarten and get to go to Basic Obedience next. If I do really good there Mom says she will take me to Agility Class. And most of all I wanted a family of my own to love and they return all the love I could have asked for. Thank you Dal-Savers Dalmatian Rescue, Inc. for taking care of me temporarily and getting me a family to love.

[ Josie 20k ]Josie: We just wanted to send you a quick note and let you know that Josie is doing great. Thursday night the dogs were up most of the night playing around and stuff, no real fights or anything. Josie also had a few potty accidents in the house as well. That was too be expected though, no big deal. She is doing much better in that area now. By Friday night Bailey and Josie were the best of buddies. Josie is a very cuddly dog - alot like Bailey. Everyone that has met her loves her and says that she is very pretty. One of my friends came over with her three children - ages 7, 5 and 2. Josie was perfectly fine with them. She gave them lots of kisses. We couldn't be happier for the way that she has fit into our family. She is a perfect addition and we already love her dearly.
Take Care,
Todd and Sheila

[ Quake(L) Jewel(R) 13k ]Quake: Here's Quake (Liver boy) and Jewel (Bl & Wh girl). I wanted a playmate for 2 year old Jewel, to keep her company during my work day, and give her more exercise. Quake is also 2 and the dogs run and play alot together until they get exhausted. Initially I separated them while I was working, but one day I came home and both dogs were on the same side of the baby gate. Quake had jumped it! They didn't get into any trouble. Just doggy toys all over the house. Two dogs have actually been easier than one at times. They play with each other when I can't play with them. I'm glad I went forward with the adoption. It's been good for all of us. The dogs are inseparable at times. We take fun walks together and visit the doggy park. We've been out to my sister's farm. Quake was so funny. He didn't know what to make of the chickens. He quickly found out that they would peck at him if he got too close!

[ Charlie B 18k ]Charlie B: Sung to the tune of "Green Acres"

Hello everyone, my name's Charlie. My new mom and dad really love me. They give me room to run far and wide. Heck with that crate, just give me some countryside!

Me and my new sister just love to play. We could run all night and all day; Bein' inside should be a crime, But what the heck, a dog's gotta eat sometime.

My life with DalSavers wasn't all that bad, but I must say, I love my new mom and dad! Oh yeah, I got a new cat too, and let me tell ya she's really fun to chew!

Now, if you'll excuse me it's time to run. Tellin' my story sure has been fun, If I had to do it all again, I'd skip the adoption, and move myself right in.

Thankya, thankya v'ry mutch....

Oh yeah, thats me and my new sis in the picture. I'm the guy with the black ear. Isnt my sis Perdy?! Well thats her name too, I think it fits. I just wanted to add a great big thanks and my biggest dal smile to DalSavers cause this new home is the best fun ever!

Love to Everyone cause I have bunches to give!!!! Charlie B (my mom says the B is for Bug, cause I love to bug my new sis)

[ Hydro (front) Odie (back) 19k ]Hydro: Hydro is getting along very well in the family. Hydro & Odie play until they both get exhausted and lay down to sleep. He likes to go 110 percent until he gets exhausted. Hydro loves to go for walks, play in the back yard, or just cuddle up next to Odie for a nap or with a good bone.

Thank you!

[ Bailey(liver) Roxy(black) 20k ]Baby Ruth (re-named Bailey) & Roxy: Both Bailey and Roxy Ciesielczyk were adopted from Dal-Savers Dalmatian Rescue, Inc. WI/IL. Just some better pictures of the 'girls'. They're just wonderful and are always together.

[ Danny 22k ]Danny: I just wanted to drop you both a line and let you know how much we LOVE Danny! He is the most adorable sweetest dog. We want to thank the Dal-Savers organization for rescuing Danny. We can't thank you enough. I can't think of any reason that his previous owners would have surrendered him, but I thank God every day that they did and we were able to adopt him. We took him to the vet today and everything looks good. The reason that he was limping is that he has a cut in the pad of his left front foot. Janet (Danny's vet) said that it looks pretty new but looks to be healing fine. She didn't see any sign of infection. I am also curious about Chance and want to know if the first people are going to go through with his adoption. If they don't please let us know! The last thing I would like to know is about your organization. I know that you are non profit, but are donations tax deductible? We were thinking that we would like Dal-savers to be one of the charities that we make regular contributions to. Please let me know the status of your organization. That's about it for now, but as Danny gets used to us we will keep you posted as he starts coming out of his shell when he gets used to us.

Thank you again for Danny

[ Crystal 25k ]Crystal: Well, it's only been a little over a month since Crystal joined us, but she has certainly become a member of our family. She made herself right at home, as you can see from the photos. She is a real joy to have around, loves going for walks and playing in the back yard, and gets along great with Emily, our cat, which is no small feat. We're very happy!

We haven't really had any problems with her, although she is a bit aggressive when meeting other dogs--she seems to regard them as threats. Black labs seem to be a particular problem--we wonder if she had a run-in with a lab sometime in her past. She's very protective of us, and wary of strangers, but she seems to be a bit more relaxed now when meeting new people than she was at first. We're hoping she'll get that way with other dogs, too--we've just started an 8-week obedience class with her, which we're hoping will get her used to being with other dogs. She seems to have made friends with the dog who lives next door, but there is a fence between them!

Anyway, I wanted to let you know that things are going very well, and wanted you to have some pictures for the "Happily Ever After" page. As far as we're concerned, Crystal is here to stay.

All the best,

John

[ Wiggles & Porter 25k ]Wiggles & Porter: both were adopted from Dal-Savers. Porter was adopted in 2001 and Wiggles was adopted in 2002.

[ Radar & his family 9k ]Radar: Radar is doing great! He has blended into our family so wonderfully. The boys often comment that he seems like he's been a member of the family for a long time, when in reality, it's barely been 2 months. We are all madly in love with him. I call him my shadow. If I go into the bathroom or somewhere where I shut the door, he lays across the doorway until I come out. John is working on fetch with him. He will bring the toy back and drop it about 70% of the time, but if he decides to keep it, there is no way you can get it from him. He has a very stubborn streak that comes out occasionally, but he is so sweet most all the time.

We had a birthday party for him on Valentine's Day, and decided that was when he would turn two. We made him a canned dog food cake with milkbone decorations, and those "Pupperoni" sticks for candles with cheese "flames." He was in doggy heaven eating that! Of course, he had to wear a party hat and his red heart bandana so he would look cute for pictures! I even took him and the boys to "The Picture People" in the mall to get a Valentine's Day photo done for John for his present. I had the boys wear black jeans and white T-shirts so they would match Radar, and he wore his heart scarf. It turned out cute and John loved it. I had copies made and sent them to our families for their valentine's and to introduce them to Radar.

We have taken him up to our cabin in Wisconsin twice already. He loves it up there because he can run and run. We were there last weekend, and he got going so fast on the ice that he almost wiped out and hit the dock! He also loves to track all the little critters that live up there. I think we better have some skunk stuff on hand this summer just in case! It's only a matter of time until he gets skunked, I suppose. The vet is having me get tick treatments for him before we start going up this summer.

Love, Ann and the guys

[ Waldo 12k ]Waldo: Just wanted you to know how much we love "Waldo" and how much he loves to snuggle up to us also!! He has gained 12 pound since we adopted him and is thriving very well. Had a few weeks of "this is my territory" from our other Dal "Daphy" but all is OK now... They love to romp in the backyard together. We appreciate the work you do... and have already told many about Dal-Savers. Thought you might like this photo of Waldo for your website. He lives up to his name (because we are always saying "Where's Waldo" when he is out of sight)!!!

Thanks...Renee & Ron Herman

[ Sparkles & Megan 19k ]Sparkles: I just wanted to write and show you how well Sparkles is getting along with us all. She has stolen every heart she meet's! She is the most patient and loving dog that I have ever come across! She is also so good natured towards Moon Pie and my daughter that I could not ask for more.
Thanks for helping us find each other.

[ Cooper(Dal) Putter(Cat) 20k ]Cody (re-named Cooper): 'Twas a week back in March that we won't soon forget, way too much time was spent with our vet. A terrible illness and a friend was taken away. We couldn't begin to imagine a more terrible day.

We've shed many tears this year over the loss of this pet. For our 6 year - old Dalmatian, this was an untimely death. Some find it silly that we grieve for so long, but this was our child, not merely a dog.

Working opposite shifts, we each spend time alone. Without our best buddy, who wants to be home? Did we get too attached? Is it not right? Do we dare get another? Well, maybe we might.

The house seemed too empty and we were both kinda blue, until a 2 year - old Dalmatian came to our rescue. Dal-Savers, an organization that saves spotted pups, in this case, came to the rescue of two human grown ups.

Cooper's his name and he sure loves to play. He'll go walking or running, anytime, night or day. He smiles on one side, it was love at first sight. We adopted him. He adopted our bed - the first night.

That love took a while to grow with Putter, our cat. They have had their fair share of brotherly spats. Putter was all settled in, since he'd been with us more than a year, but this canine's high energy was something to fear.

8 months has passed as 2001 came to an end, and our family was complete once again. The memories will sometimes still bring us tears, but there are plenty of laughs with Putter & Cooper here.

To everyone who's shared in the lives of our pets, from Dal-Savers, to Fox Valley Animal Referral and everyone at All Creatures, our vet, special thanks to everyone for everything that you do, and may we wish you the best for 2002!

Beth, Rick, Putter & Cooper
