ABOUT US
Dal-Savers Dalmatian Rescue, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit ALL VOLUNTEER rescue
organization dedicated to rescuing and adopting homeless Dalmatians into
loving homes. We service Wisconsin and Illinois.
OUR DOGS
We carefully screen the Dalmatians we take into our rescue. They must
have good temperaments and be able to get along well in a family environment.
Adoption
Fees are as follows:
Puppies and dogs up
to 6 years - $200
6 years and over - $150
Deaf - $150
The fees cover the cost of veterinary care since all of our Dals are spayed
or neutered, up to date on Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella vaccines,
heartworm tested and kept on heartworm preventative, and micro-chipped
before adoption. The fees also cover other ongoing expenses involved with
rescuing a homeless Dalmatian such as food, crates, leashes, and collars.
We
are in currently need of foster homes.
If you would like to be a temporary foster home, please Contact
us.

Flower - Female, spayed, Dal/Terrier
mix born May, 2007...
"Hi, My name is Flower and I'm looking
for a family to love me. The world is a wide open space and I'm eager
to learn all that I can to become your forever pet. I love kids, hugs,
and playing. My foster dogmom, SuzyQ, says I have lots of puppy energy
but I always have a kiss ready for anyone that wants to give me
attention. I'm crate trained, working very hard on potty training and
just learning about that word leash. I'm part of a Spring Bouquet
living in my foster home with my sisters Blossom and Lilly."
Update - "I've been busy since my Foster mom
last wrote you. I have started to learn the basics of agility because
of all my energy. My Foster dogsitter has taught me to jump through a
tire, go through a tunnel and go up the slide and down. I am by no way
trained to do this on command I'm still doing food treats to do it.
Tonight I cleared a 4 ft. fence to get from our playyard to my dogsitter
(I just wanted to play). My foster mom said precautions will have to be
taken for me when I'm outside. "

Duchess - Female, spayed Dal/Pointer
mix Born April, 2006 I am almost 2 years old, and done with all the
puppy stuff. I like to play with other dogs, but I think I would
like to be an only dog. I like all the attention and all the toys.
I know that I am suppose to share, but I dont like others having more
fun than me. You should see me play in the back yard. I have
one of those big hard balls, that I can manage to pick up with my teeth,
but I can also throw it with my front paws. Is there a soccer team
I could join? If you are looking for a companion to walk or run
with, I would love that too. And when you relax, I will be there
right next to you. I am crate trained and housebroken. I may
not look to much like a Dal, but I do act like them.
Spot
- Male Neutered, 7 years old.
I am Spot. I am a big boy. I am finding out that life may
not be so scary. That whole grooming part with that very
noise thing (dryer) was super scary. I love little
kids, laying on me, playing with me, feeding me. I think I
love them the most. This other dog that is here is nuts,
just stairs at this cage, but when she goes after my friend
(Lance, in play) I don't like that, then I have to step in.
Guys I guess are not SO bad, not the most trusting at
first, but they have a nice touch. I love to sleep in the
nice warm bed., It doesnt matter at the foot or in the
middle, just on the bed. Toys….WOW, they are great to play
tug-of-war with. And for bones, I guess if Im board I will
chew on them for just a second or two, but no more. When
there is nobody home I love to play in the garbage, so they
always put that away on me. Not sure why. I like what is on
the inside most of the time. I am 71lbs and think I am a
lap dog. Love being outside. I am 6 years old and I do
like getting a ton of hours of sleeping time. If that other
dog is getting attention and I am not, I make sure that I am
not forgotten. I am a very easy going boy. If you let me
out, I will run. The only thing that is standing in my way
is that cold stuff they call snow. If it is not plowed or
packed down I will not go through it.

VOLUNTEER
OPPORTUNITIES
We always welcome new volunteers to help us with this wonderful breed.
Our #1 need right now is temporary care homes. As a temporary care home
you will have the opportunity to save a dales life! Needed medical attention
is provided by Dal-Savers Dalmatian Rescue, all you give is food, shelter
and lots of TLC! We also need volunteers to distribute literature, return
phone calls, transport, fund raisers, do mailings, computer work or attend
one of our promotional events and anything else that may come along!
Many people think if they can't be a temporary care home, they can't help
a rescue. Nothing could be further from the truth! Click
here and you will find a list of things YOU may be able to do.
